<image:caption>One of the moments that stood out for me the most was hearing the exhales of the women as I invited them to relax their shoulders. We hold heavy tension in our shoulders and as women we carry experiences of our own and others. It can feel like you’re in a constant state of clench, flight, fight, and/or fear. To be able to courageously let that all go collectively and turn inward and focus only on us was a powerful act of resistance. We need to be able to lean into that more, and I’m glad we got to do that together and be ourselves. Beautiful. Powerful. Courageous.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - The Beauty of October</image:title>
<image:caption>October was one for the books, from day one I felt a strong wind of new beginnings in the air. The crisp cool days and change of color and texture in the leaves made everything about October feel fresh. Typically not my one of my favorite months because of all the chaos and focus on Halloween (never been into it) but never the less I appreciate the ushering in of a season that truly invites us to slow down. I feel the perfect pause between summer and the upcoming holiday season.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - The Beauty of October</image:title>
<image:caption>Starting off the month I gathered together an intimate group of women for a morning of Match & Connection. Since returning from my summer vacation I have felt a strong desire to be in community. I felt what better way to do that then grab a matcha and catch up on life and so we found ourselves at my favorite Koreatown coffee shop Open Market. We talked life, work, family, relationships, art, and most importantly who we are in this season. As we shared our experiences there was one commonality we were all coming out of very big life changes- from divorce, to job loss, and losing loved ones we were all eclipsing in profound ways and embarking on the other side. It felt so great to share openly and authentically. The older I get the more I’m finding that there is deep freedom in being honest about where I am. There’s nothing that feels uncomfortable nor do I fear judgment because I know who I am and what I’m made of. For me there is nothing but love and resiliency in my vulnerability. In this day and time we need more of this type of expression, not people telling us what to do or how to be just genuinely being in a space of acceptance, care, and support. We all left that day feeling lighter, more present, and excited for the next time together!</image:caption>

<image:caption>I also teamed up with Zen Folks at Reach LA for Face your Fear a workshop and Soundbath experience! I told ya’ll I don’t do Halloween but in the energy of the season we were able to borrow inspo and form it into an amazing wellness workshop that quite literally shifted us all from Fear to FAITH! It was so good! I led us through a detoxing breathwork to remove heaviness and anxiety from the heart and then we all did a writing exercise placing our fears on paper as we let out audible sounds to release the energy. To finish we ripped up the paper and through it in the trash not leaving one sliver of it behind. The way the energy shifted was palpable! As I type this I can feel that same energy of freedom bubbling up! It was a fantastic day of community, and bringing us back to where it all starts LOVE!</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - The Beauty of October - In the past I’ve stuck to my goals and pressed through but something about this time feels different. I think it’s because when my Mom was living I wanted to prove to her that I could make it out here in this big world on my own but now I’m doing it to show myself that I can keep going in this big world on my own. I’ve come to learn life is not about proving anything to anyone people will come and go, but it’s about proving it to you the one who is here with you every single day! I thank God for what’s been put inside of me that allows me to want to keep going, keep doing, and keep becoming the best version of me. As we head into November I’m still fired up, I’m going to keep going and doing my best! I’ve already reaped some beautiful benefits of shifting my habits, behaviors and mindset. I’m confident in this-I will finish.</image:title>

<image:caption>The workday moves faster than ever. Emails stack up, meetings never seem to end, and interest slips away before lunch. Yet in all that noise, one quiet practice is transforming workplaces, corporate meditation classes. They don’t just help people breathe better. They change how teams think, react, and connect. A short moment of stillness, shared across a busy office, can shape how a company feels from the inside out.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - How Corporate Meditation Classes Improve Focus and Company Culture - What Meditation Really Does</image:title>
<image:caption>What Meditation Really Does Meditation isn’t about sitting perfectly, nevertheless, or silencing the mind. It’s about recognition—noticing what’s taking place in the mind and body without judgment. In a place of job setting, this awareness brings sharper focus and less reactivity. When stress rises, employees learn how to respond instead of react. That simple shift can prevent repeated misunderstandings, conflicts, and burnout cycles. Regular meditation classes train focus in the same manner as physical exercise trains the body. The more frequently it’s practiced, the stronger focus becomes. People stop multitasking and start engaging. They pay attention better, think deeper, and make choices more evenly.</image:caption>

<image:caption>The Lifestyle Coach Approach A lifestyle coach brings something special to this system—steering that feels non-public and grounded. Rather than coaching abstract practice, a teacher connects meditation to everyday office life. For instance: How to take 3 conscious breaths before replying to a hard email. How to reset among back-to-back Zoom meetings. How to create a morning ritual that improves focus earlier than the day starts has evolved. These are small modifications, but they ripple outward. With constant guidance, meditation will become more than a consultation—it will become a dependency. A lifestyle coach also adapts practices to agency tradition. Tech groups prefer brief mindfulness breaks, while innovative departments may additionally experience longer guided meditations. Customization continues the practice of making it relevant and engaging.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - How Corporate Meditation Classes Improve Focus and Company Culture - Simple Ways to Bring Meditation to Work</image:title>
<image:caption>Starting small makes a distinction. A 10-minute meditation earlier than crew meetings. A short “mindful break” after lunch. A weekly guided session led by a certified teacher. Some companies additionally offer hybrid options—a mix of virtual and on-site sessions to reach every worker. Consistency matters are greater than layout. What subjects are they that take place frequently enough to construct a rhythm? Soon, those short moments of stillness start to define the workplace rhythm itself—slow enough to think, speedy enough to perform.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - Lock In! - Working on Something new!</image:title>
<image:caption>Where did summer go?! Can you believe it’s already September?! I’m so glad I took a vacation this year—it was much needed after the year I’ve had walking through loss and grief. Looking back, I realize my trip was truly a God-send. Taking the time off helped me move through the heartbreak and heaviness that’s been surrounding me, and now that I’m back, I feel like the best version of myself yet! So wiith that, I’m ready to LOCK IN! In case you haven’t heard, there’s a new social media trend called “Lock In.” From September 1st through the end of the year, the idea is to buckle down and get serious about all the things you’ve been talking about doing but haven’t actually done yet. I love this concept for so many reasons. For one, I just celebrated my birthday, which has always felt like my personal new year. I’m older, wiser, more rooted, and divinely inspired than ever before. When I look back at this past year, it’s been full—my mother’s transition, a breakup from a six-year relationship, letting go of toxic family and friends. It’s been a year of pruning, purging, and shedding. And yet, by the goodness, grace, and love of God, I’m still standing. Marvin Sapp wasn’t lying when he sang “Never Would Have Made It”— because truly, I would have lost it all if it wasn’t for God and the amazing people He placed in my life.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - Lock In! - Outfit of the day!</image:title>
<image:caption>One of the biggest parts of my birthday ritual is reflection. I never want to be in the same place I was the year before. I aspire to move forward, grow in self-awareness, and elevate higher. A year ago, I was deep in grief, angry, and in disbelief. I’m not there anymore. Do I still miss my mom? Absolutely. My God, I miss her every day. But staying in that same space of mourning would leave me stuck—and that’s not what she’d want for me. Now, I choose to use that grief as fuel, trusting that God is leading me through it. So if you’re in a place where you’re ready to lock in and want accountability, this trend might be exactly what you need. I’ve put together a list of the things I’m locking in on—take what resonates, and let’s commit to making 2025 our best year yet!</image:caption>

It’s not easy getting to this stage in life, you’ve done your best with the information and resources you have, now it’s time to move forward with grace, vision, and discipline to get to where you want to be. #24 It’s ok to grieve the life you thought you would have by now-No husband that’s ok, no kids that’s ok too, still living in apartment that’s ok too. Start where you are and no that you can create new dreams again. #25 Set Intentions and then goals! Our culture puts heavy emphasis on goals and while that is a productive practice, I’ve come to learn that also setting intentions allows me to aware of my why. When I know my why even if my goal is not accomplished I can go into a thing or move on from a situation knowing that the intention was accomplished and I’m ok with that! #26 With age comes wisdom, it’s taken alot for me to get here</image:caption>

I believe God loves us and guides us through the life. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the love and grace of God. <image:caption>#19 Forgive your parents, they won’t always be alive, and you will miss them. #20 Get your finances together! Pay your bills on time, invest. Find a financial advisor or talk to a friend who’s savvy with money, you won’t regret it! #21 Give back through tithes, offering, and/or volunteering- God blesseth a cheerful giver! #22 Be open to new ways of seeing things- A rigid mind is a small mind. #23 Live alone- you’ll be happy you did! #24 It’s ok to grieve the life you thought you would have by now-No husband that’s ok, no kids that’s ok too, still living in apartment that’s fine. Start where you are and know that you can create new dreams again.</image:caption>

<image:caption>#25 Set Intentions and then goals! Our culture puts heavy emphasis on goals and while that is a productive practice I’ve come to learn that also setting intentions allows me to be aware of my why. When I know my why even if my goal is not accomplished I can go into a thing or move on from a situation knowing that the intention was accomplished and be ok with that. #26 You don’t owe anyone a explanation. #27 Drinking alcohol is so overrated. A glass of wine with dinner is ok if you like but excessive drinks is just a bad idea. Your body doesn’t recover the same and the hangover last for way longer than it did in your 20’s and 30’s. Sparkling water please :) #28 Curate a comfortable living space. Your home is a reflection of who you are it’s important that it feel safe, beautiful, and sacred.</image:caption>

<image:caption>#31 Forgive in your own time. #32 You will be hurt by people. #33 You will hurt people. #34 Apologize and move on. #37 The only person you can change is yourself. #38 Be a leader- I’ve learned lessons I would’ve never learned had I never been in a leadership role. Leadership will allow you to think and interact with people in ways that cause you to see the bigger picture. #39 No one owes you anything and vice versa. #40 Never compromise yourself for someone else's comfort.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Hi! I hope this post finds you well and you’re enjoying the summer. I’m taking a much needed vacay after a long and trying last few years so to say I need this time to check out is an understatement! I’m spending some time in Orlando, Florida, and very excited to be here. The way the sunshine, humidity and thunderstorms are a welcome reset to my nervous-system is fantastic! Who needs a sauna to detox when you can just sit outside for 5 minutes lol!!</image:caption>

<image:caption>One of the great things that happened during my time here was all the new friends I made and how these friends became family. The people that God brought into my life while living here were unmatched. Don’t get me wrong I am grateful for all the people and friends I’ve made along the way but the friends I’ve made here just see and love me differently. These friends know the Safia who was a messy toddler and chaotic teenager who was learning how to become a woman. The village I have here know my life and experiences in a way that not even my family in Gary knows so when the loved ones here tell me they’re proud of me it hits different!</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - friends - As a Mindfulness Guide I’m all about a good intention, having this allows me to move from the heart space instead of my head. When it comes to any relationship in this instance friendship I ask myself “how do I want to feel?”when I’m with my friend. Knowing what I want to feel like creates an awareness in me to know when I feel that feeling this could be a good sign. *Just make sure when you feel what you feel you don’t ignore it good or bad. Also if you’re having a difficult time in the friendships here are a few affirmations for when you need reassurance and/or a compass for navigating them better:</image:title>
<image:caption>I intend to treat my friend how I want to be treated I see, support, and love my friend My friend see’s support’s, and loves me I am a good friend Read, Write and Speak these affirmations whenever you need them.</image:caption>

<image:caption>It’s been awhile since I’ve been here, there’s been a lot going on in my life and as you know this world is in a constant state of change, and uproar! That being said I just haven’t had the energy and/or words to come here and get my thoughts, feelings, and point of views out. I hate that because I love sharing here so I’m going to make every attempt to get back on the wagon. If you follow my Substack then you’ve seen a few notes I’ve dropped but if you aren’t following me sign up for my newsletter here. Lately I’ve been feeling the nudge to get back and creating through writing feels like the medium. The provocation I’ve felt to get something out has been intense. It would best be described as a pressure cooker wanting to implode, a match wanting to ignite, the sun seeking to shine. It’s time.</image:caption>

<image:caption>I think after sharing on social media for a few years now I’ve discovered what feels right for me, and it feels great to be making my own way. With my newfound interest and disinterest I’ve felt a yearning to explore, taking in what feels good and leaving the rest. I listen to my body, and my heart and that applies to everything and everyone in and around my life.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Along with this shift I have also come upon the one year anniversary of my Mom’s transitioning. My grief has pushed me to become planted, pause, listen, and honor what my body, and soul is telling me. The emotions I’ve felt over this last year have been vast & strong. It’s only been by the grace of God that I have pulled through and propelled each day. The days have gone by in a blur but certain timelines stand out like yesterday. The months of July and August will never be the same for me. Allowing myself to be available for my new reality, is an awakening. The spaces of my pain, loss, love, life, confusion, can be overwhelming, however I am trusting that its all apart of Gods plan.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - In Bloom: Spring Equinox</image:title>
<image:caption>Sunday March 16th I lived and witnessed an answered prayer with In Bloom hosted by 100 Healthy Women. 5 years after completing my meditation and yoga teacher trainings I was in a reality that I wrote down back in 2020. Those words were “ I want to support Black women’s healing journey by offering yoga and mediation through events and classes. Well as alignment would have it Spring Equinox, Women’s History Month, and an intention to bring women back to their bodies were all the inspirations needed and the moment had now arrived. As Janet Jackson’s “That’s the Way Love Goes” played in the background and sage and incense burned I felt like I was in a scene from Girlfriends or Insecure-the moment was truly Divine.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - In Bloom: Spring Equinox</image:title>
<image:caption>My heart is still filled after being immersed in this experience. We as women especially Black Women face and go through insurmountable challenges from home life, to work, to existing in the world. When we create the space for ourselves and the spaces to heal we can overcome. I know we are tired and just want to breathe, love and be loved and we’re doing it. To be well is our birthright, and we are reclaiming that truth for ourselves. As we step into this new coming of Spring may we all be reminded of what we’re grateful, may we celebrate every triumph, and let go of what no longer serves. The New Year has officially arrived and I’m excited for what’s ins store! Are you? Live Live, Safia</image:caption>

<image:caption>Most of my career has been spent working as a creative from behind the chair as a makeup and hair artist on set to doing nails in spa’s and salons. Now in my 3rd career pivot I’m in both beauty and wellness as a manger in a corporate environment. I have staff, I make schedules, I interview candidates, I meet with other members of leadership about the in’s and out’s of the business. I love the work I do but ya’ll it can be so exhausting… engaging with people, their personalities, putting out fires, communicating professionally, and advocating to be seen and heard all in one work day takes a lot out of me. As a black woman it’s even more taxing because I’m the ONLY black woman in leadership in my company and many days I feel isolated. When I talk with my friends, and read stories I’m learning this is something many black women go through and it’s crazy because how are we all in different places but experiencing the same damn things!</image:caption>

<image:caption>Women are the breath, heartbeat and soul of the world, there is no life without a us. With all the challenges and victories we face to be able to celebrate ourselves is imperative in these trying times. As I’ve grown from girlhood to womanhood I’ve come to recognize, learn, and accept the vastness of what it means to be a woman. These understandings have come to shape me and play part in who you see today. So in today’s post I’m sharing some of what I’ve discovered…</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - Happy International Women’s Day! - I hosted a Celebration of Womanhood dinner to celebrate the women in my life and myself for being and doing great things. We talked, laughed, and connected over delicious food, empowering music, in the most beautiful space I could imagine. A night that will always be dear to me. I look forward to hosing this dinner again, it really showed me that we all need to take a moment to realize our awesomeness and continue to move forward in this ever evolving world.</image:title>

<image:caption>Throughout my life and career in beauty & wellness I have been immersed in the lives of women one of the things that I have to come to learn about us all is that we want to know and feel that we are intelligent, capable, supported, beautiful and thriving. With the work I am doing with FYL that is my mission with every word I put out, every class I teach, and every event I host. We truly deserve the best this world has to offer and as we continue to make history in our respective areas we are one step closer to getting there! Live Lite, Safia</image:caption>

<image:caption>Suana- Particulary Infared Red Suana! I love a good sweat and sweating in an infrared sauna can remove toxins and heavy metals from the body. With all the pollution, chemicals and day to day stressors detoxing the body is absolutely necessary! Infared Suana helps also helps with pain relief. I workout about 2-4 times a week including teaching a mindful movement class so my body gets a good amount of physical activity and exertion. By adding infrared to my recovery rest I have experienced a decrease in chronic pain and my skin looks better!</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - “How You Doing?” - My mom went into the ER the night before I was to fly out to Mexico for my friends birthday, so I had the tough decision of deciding to stay or go (nervous & anxious) but my mom and friends encouraged me to go and enjoy myself, assuring me that things would be fine. After being there for not even 48 hours my phone was stolen, broken into, emails hacked and money stolen from back accounts! (confused, angry, anxious, sad) I was SICK!</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - “How You Doing?”</image:title>
<image:caption>In our world of AI, fake news, is it or isn’t rhetoric we need truth, when we share our truths it can offer others the freedom to share theirs. With the rise in deaths by well-known celebrities and unassuming women and men a call to action of revealing how we really are is welcomed now more than ever. I don’t want to hear or see another tragedy of someone loosing their life due to not being mentally well. As soon as it happens the questions of why didn’t they talk to me, haunts the loved ones & friends left to grieve. It’s heart-breaking. Mental Health Awareness is more than just a slogan, or a thing to be recognized one month out of the year- it is an invitation and a plea that says your mind is important, how you’re feeling is important, and help is available for you. It is my mission with FYL to be transparent and provide resources that support mental well being. We don’t have to walk alone in our experiences. So the next time you ask or are asked how you doing I challenge you to tell the truth, it could make the difference in your mental well being to be supported or supportive.
