When the Manifestation is only the seed.
I don’t know about you, but whenever something I’ve written down, dreamed about, or deeply believed would happen finally comes to life, I have to pinch myself. Like, OMG—is this really happening?!
For months, I had been saying that I wanted to go to Costa Rica. In fact, I remember the exact moment I said it out loud to someone. I said it with so much conviction that it felt like I already knew it was going to happen.
Now mind you, no flight was booked, no hotel had been saved, and there were no concrete plans just the words coming out of my mouth.
Life went on, but I thought to myself, “Well, let me start looking into this since I keep talking about it.”
With my birthday coming up in August, it felt like the perfect time to plan a trip. Coincidentally, the last time I was in Costa Rica was for my birthday in 2017. So I started researching hotels, reading reviews, scrolling social media, and watching videos of people enjoying this beautiful country.
During my search, I came across a retreat center and immediately thought, “Oh, this looks really, really nice.”
The architecture was beautiful. The décor was beautiful. The grounds were absolutely breathtaking.
I thought to myself, “This is it.”
As I explored their website, I discovered they offered a wide variety of wellness programming—yoga, meditation, nature hikes, sound baths, and more.
Then another thought crossed my mind:
“Wouldn’t it be cool if I could teach while I’m there?”
Because apparently, I never fully stop working! Lol!
As I continued exploring the website, I searched for staff members and found the person responsible for managing the wellness programming. Right there on the website was her email address.
I decided to reach out.
I introduced myself, shared that I would be in Costa Rica in August and planned to stay at the retreat center, and mentioned that if there were any teaching opportunities available, I would be interested.
I hit send with courage and a smile.
To my surprise, I received a response that said:
“That’s wonderful that you’re coming. Unfortunately, I don’t have any teaching opportunities available in August. However, I do have opportunities in June if your dates are flexible. If so, let’s see what we can work out.”
WHAT?!?!?!
Are you kidding me?
Yes, my dates are flexible! Tell me more!
We scheduled a call, connected, discussed the retreat center and its programs, and just like that—BOOM!
“Let’s move forward. We’d love to have you come for a few weeks in June to teach and enjoy the space.”
I could not believe my ears.
Or my eyes.
It. Was. Happening.
And just like that, I began booking my trip to my favorite place on Earth: Costa Rica.
If you’ve never been here, this country holds a healing energy unlike anything I had ever experienced before my first visit in 2017.
The national motto is “Pura Vida,” which translates to “Pure Life.”
And trust me you feel it the moment you step off the plane.
When I arrived, my driver picked me up and brought me to the retreat center. As soon as I walked in, the staff greeted me with such warmth.
One after another they said,
“You’re the yoga teacher!”
I was surprised they already knew who I was, almost as if they had been waiting for me.
Then, to bring it all home, someone looked at me and said:
“Welcome home.”
Instant chills.
Because when I first visited Costa Rica almost ten years ago, I felt a sense of home unlike anything I’d ever experienced outside of my hometown.
To hear those words again made me feel safe immediately.
There was a hot meal waiting for me, warm smiles everywhere, and genuine care from every person I encountered.
When I tell you this trip has given me so much more than I imagined or expected, I truly mean it.
As I share this story I want you to consider a few things as you continue your own paths of manifestation and trust.
Remember:
Your words have power.
Speak intentionally about what you truly desire for your life. Words plant seeds.
Put your words into action.
Faith requires movement. Have the courage to take the first step, even when you don’t know exactly where it will lead.
Be open and flexible.
Yes, I originally wanted to come in August. But my true intention was simply to be here. Flexibility created space for that intention to unfold in an even better way than I imagined.
Trust that everything is working out for you.
Even when you can’t see the full picture, trust that pieces are moving into place behind the scenes.
Move in silence sometimes.
I know that’s hard. But not everything needs to be announced immediately. Some dreams need quiet space to take root and grow.
Be ready when the opportunity arrives.
The retreat center requested information to verify that I was qualified to teach and hold space for others. Everything they needed was already available on the website I had created years earlier. Preparation matters.
Show up for it all.
This experience reminds me that I am more ready than I think I am. While this trip is absolutely a space for my own healing and restoration, it is also confirmation that I have done the work and am capable of holding space for others.
The last few years have been some of the most difficult of my life.
I have experienced loss, grief, uncertainty, and moments that challenged me deeply.
Loss has a way of knocking you down.
But every single day, I chose to show up for myself and for my healing.
And if you can hold onto your faith in yourself and in God you will make it through whatever season you are facing.
No one ever promised the journey would be easy.
But you have not come this far to be abandoned.
God has not forgotten you.
Your angels have not left your side.
Even when you cannot see the path ahead, trust that you are being guided.
Trust that you are being supported.
Trust that what is meant for you is already making its way to you.
And when it arrives, don’t be surprised if you have to pinch yourself and say:
“Wow... it’s actually here.”
